In its facility established in Istanbul, it has been working in construction, agriculture, textile, etc., especially filters, since 1980. produces expanded perlite, which is used in many branches of industry in the field. It produces approximately 10 000 tons perlite per year. The philosophy of quality in service and production with its experienced and trained personnel and modern facility; to ensure customer satisfaction, not to compromise on quality under any circumstances, and to always give importance to human and environmental health. At home and abroad; With its 12 CE certified mobile furnaces and expert staff, Natural Gas, Oxygen, Nitrogen etc. It fills the tanks with perlite and establishes modern perlite expansion facilities.
Raw perlite, which is extracted from our perlite mine field, which is 27 km away from our factory in Kütahya, is sold both domestically and abroad after it is classified. The investment process of our perlite field in Kütahya has been completed in 1 year as a result of serious investment and effort, and the raw perlite we produce has attracted the attention of potential buyers all over Turkey with its quality and high expansion rate. Although it has started to produce raw perlite recently, our company has succeeded in achieving its success in the expanded perlite sector as a raw perlite supplier in a very short time. Our company works with the principle of maximum efficiency and high quality in the sector in which it operates, and aims to move its place even further among other companies in the sector. |
Perlite is a general name given to naturally occurring siliceous volcanic stones that can be found all over the world. A unique feature of perlite is that when heated to its softening point (850 - 1150ºC), it can expand up to 35 times its original volume. This expansion process is mediated by the water in the raw rock. It is possible. If the perlite ore is rapidly heated above 850°C (16000°F), the water begins to evaporate and causes the softening stone to expand. Tiny glassy bubbles form, creating the exceptional lightness and physical properties of expanded perlite. Perlite, meaning pearl stone, is a glassy volcanic rock in various colors from gray to black. In this form, perlite is called RAW PERLITE. Crushed perlite in various sizes and sized by passing through sieves at different intervals is called SQUARE PERLITE. When the classified perlite loses its water in the flame shock at high temperatures, its grain volume increases up to approximately 35 times as a result of explosion, it is called EXPANDED PERLITE. Expanded perlite is produced in various grain size ranges according to the sector in which it is used.
INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATIONS OPERATING IN THE SECTOR Established in the USA, which is one of the most important countries in the world in perlite production, technology and consumption, "The Perlite Institute Inc." It is defined as a solution to corporate development requirements and continues its activities with very important and positive contributions to date.
The reasons for the establishment of the Perlite Institute are summarized as follows:
Contributing to the acceptance of perlite in the fields of use, although it has been known in the market for a while and has extraordinary features and advantages, since reliable technical information, accepted commercial standards and insufficient information in the public opinion are not available.
In order for the perlite industry, which is a promising area but underestimated, to have a bright future, there is a need for a coordinated effort and a continuous campaign within the understanding of self-help.
The need to meet the research and information needs of manufacturers, specifications and product descriptions, as well as users and consumers, in an effective and economical way.
Genper has been a member of this organization for years and closely follows the innovations in the world in close relations with all perlite producers in the world.
Our company makes the classification of the natural perlite extracted from the mining area in Kütahya and then distributes it to its customers in Turkey and the world. GEMPORT port is preferred for international shipments.
Perlite – Applications and Uses
- It is especially used in the production of sewer pipes, as it is resistant to acids and bases,
- In interior and exterior construction plasters,
- In constructions that receive water as it is resistant to frost,
- Roof and terrace waterproofing,
- In the construction of swimming pool,
- It is used as a plaster in heat insulation or in the production of insulated lightweight construction elements such as briquettes, since it has the character of a light building material,
- As skid sand in railways,
- As an abrasive in the abrasive industry,
- It is used as filter sand and gravel in water treatment plants in accordance with TS 4081,
- It is used as asphalt filling material in highway construction.
- As metallurgical flux in foundry
- As an additive to foundry sand
- Protection of molten metal in the crucible
- Preventing heat losses of hot metal ingots going to forging or rolling
- Slag control of molten metal in iron and steel industry
- In the production of perlite insulating refractories
- In perlite refractory bricks with ceramic binder

- Perlite refractory mortars
- Used in Ceramic and Glass industry
- In the production of plaster and construction chemicals
Raw perlite, which we started to produce recently, is extracted from our homogeneous mine fields and its expansion rate is quite high. Our raw perlite factory in Kütahya has been put into service of our customers in a way that can meet all kinds of RAW PERLIT demands as a result of a serious investment and effort of about a year.
